-
This category is for players who are playing or who have played a high level of cricket (including top level league, district, provincial, first class or international). However, there is no restriction on who can be selected for these levels as our coaches have a keen eye on potential and talent. As well, players are constantly moving into this category with good performances in other divisions.
Our top team plays in the highest level of cricket in Canada (the TDCA Super 9 competition) and have a feeder system through our BEDCL Premier team.
Many players at OCA who are in this level of league cricket have played for Canada, Pro Leagues (Franchise Cricket), first class and international level.
ADVANCED LEVEL TEAMS:
A) Toronto District Cricket Association (TDCA) – SUPER 9 DIVISION (50 overs)
B) Brampton Etobicoke District (BEDCL) – ELITE DIVISION (50 overs)
-
This category is for players who are aspiring to reach higher levels in the game. An example of this might be:
- A young player who has graduated from youth cricket trying and shown good potential
- An established player who has been playing for years and has a desire to get to the top level as a player
- A competitive player who is returning to the game after time off the sport and wants to be involved in a good standard of play
This can be considered a good challenging level of play where players can prove themselves as players to move to higher ranks and as well improve their game at the same time.
A) Toronto District Cricket Association (TDCA) – PREMIER DIVISION (50 overs)
B) Mississauga Cricket Premier League (MCPL) – FIRST DIVISION (T20)
A) Canadian Commonwealth Cricket Association of Toronto (CCAT) – PREMIER DIVISION (50 overs)

This category serves as a starting point for players who have a love for cricket and want to be engaged in the sport. The cricket is fairly pressure free and offers players a good environment to enjoy while improving and developing skills and the all important social aspect of the game.
Players in this category might include:
- Players returning to the game after a long time off
- Players who love the game, but do not want to play too competitively
- Those who want to learn more match skills so they can move up the ranks at OCA to higher divisions

How does selection work?
Selection is based on multiple factors such as skill level, performance, commitment, availability, fee payment status etc. At any given time, we have a considerable number of matches going on in various leagues. Therefore, the selectors aim to field the best combination for each game. The captains will also provide their input during the selection process. Each week, we usually aim to announce the teams by Thursday or earlier. There may be adjustments after the team announcements.
